Why do we need unified training?
Both septic designers and installers come from a wide variety of backgrounds; many of the designers are formally trained in engineering or surveying with little environmental science background, while those who do have an education in environmental science typically know little about engineering, and a handful have no formal training in either field. The bulk of the licensed septic installers came into the profession because they do contracting work and own excavation equipment. For these individuals, doing septic installation broadens their business opportunities. There are only a few installers who make their primary living on septic system work.
